Next Generation Map

We have recently been working on replacing the main CellMapper web based map.  This current map has its roots in code that was written around 2010, which, as you can image, makes it extremely difficult to add features into and fix bugs.
As a result, we've been experimenting with some new technologies in order to allow us to create a next generation map that is fast, mobile friendly, and has a good foundation upon to which we can add new features much more quickly than before.

CellMapper 5.1.3 Released

CellMapper 5.1.3 has been released after being in beta for quite a while.  This release focuses on stability, and brings the following changes

- Fixed offline map losing data when scrolling
- Added band selection for tiles on map so that you can see individual band signal trails
- Added distance to connected tower on map view
- Fix Android O crash when sending debug report
- Support more LTE bands (such as B71) in frequency calculator and app
- Bug fixes and more translated text, such as smaller UI glitches and some untranslated text
- Add setting for LTE timing advance adjustment to allow for tweaking of timing advance to distance mapping

CellMapper 5.1.1 Released

CellMapper 5.1.1 has just been released.  This is mostly a stability/maintenance focused release.

Features include:
- Show provider name on car mode screen
- Fix some dual SIM phones reporting bad network type for 2nd SIM
- Fixed LTE-A not being detected on some devices
- Fixed bad data recorded on some devices during handover
- Bug fixes
- LTE B66 support

The biggest change in this release is support for B66 on Qualcomm based phones with the proper EARFCN.  Likewise, reducing the number of false data points when transition between different network types.

CellMapper 5.1.0 Released

After a month of testing, CellMapper 5.1.0 has been released.  This new version bring an important change, as CellMapper is now able to detect network subtypes one again.  This includes brand new features like LTE-A detection without having to trigger Carrier Aggregation by downloading a large file.
There are also some manufacturer specific detection methods, like DC-HSPA+ dection on Sony devices as well.

New website design, multiple language support, and new features added

We have started working on a new design for the website. Many page's now have a new, mobile friendly, design and a better navigation system. We are still working on the site and are trying make site even better.

New Website

A new navigation menu make it easier to find resources on the site. A few pages still use the old or different navigation menu, but we will update all pages to use same navigation in the near future.


A new, responsive, design make easier read and use the site on mobile devices as well.
New Feature - Change Password
Now you can change password easily.  Simply click on your account name in the top corner and then select "Change Password".

New Band Selection Option

We have updated the CellMapper online map to now support the ability select LTE bands per provider.  This data is provided by phones running Android 7.0 and higher, which provide the exact LTE frequency band information that is used for this map.

Examples of providers that support this are T-Mobile USA, Telia Finland, Bell/Telus Canada, and TIM Italy.



To view this new information, simply change the "Band" section on supported providers!
